ZWCF anti-poaching operations — game scout support in South Luangwa

Anti-Poaching & Scout Support

Scout salaries, housing, K-9 units, and informant networks. The transport, food, and gear that make patrols and raids possible. A scout house built in the Mwanya community. Plans to train 50 additional scouts through the Nakaluma Game Scout School. Local scouts, given the power to secure their own land.

Clean Water — Borehole Program

Our own drilling rig operates year-round across the Luangwa Valley. Through The Bushcamp Company, Brooke and Corby have already drilled approximately 300 boreholes — each with a capacity to serve approximately 200 people per day, though actual daily usage varies by location and season. With their own rig, 10 boreholes drilled so far. ZWCF target: 30 new boreholes per year, split between community water and dedicated wildlife water sources.

Road grader maintaining roads in South Luangwa National Park

Roads & Infrastructure

The Robertson family's road grader maintains 63 miles of road annually — the Mfuwe-to-Mwanya route every May after the rains, roads inside South Luangwa National Park, and access routes throughout the broader valley. Three airstrips kept operational.

Girls dormitory and education program — ZWCF Zambia

Education & Schools

A teacher's house built. A girls' dormitory completed. Books, school supplies, and soccer balls delivered directly to local schools. The Nakaluma Game Scout School trains community members for wildlife protection careers. Through BCC: 34 classrooms built and 350+ students currently on active scholarships.

Brooke Robertson personally leads delivery — into the villages, in person, hand in hand with community leadership. Emergency food relief. Life-saving malaria treatments. Bales of clothing brought to the village center. Help isn't a concept here — it is a physical reality for the communities we serve.

Natural Resource Management

Addressing deforestation, uncontrolled fire, and land misuse. Community-based fire management plans, tree nurseries, game cameras, aerial surveys, and satellite imagery to monitor wildlife. CSL's radio tower on Chibembe extends anti-poaching network reach. GCF GPS collaring of Thornicroft's giraffe at Chibembe in 2025.
